Call me old fashioned, but I love 1x11 drivetrains. On a lighter hardtail in a place that is mostly cross country, the tighter cassette range and wider tolerances feel and set up nicely. Maybe it’s missing that 52t but if you smash on the bike, who needs it?? We’ve got a 32t front ring matched with an 11-42t cassette. To top it off we smacked a gold KMC chain on there.
While subtle, there are some cool touches to this hardtail. The Fox 32 fork has been repainted with a bit of flake in the black, and aftermarket grey decals from Slik graphics. All of the components are from Thomson, and we have a good mix of alloy stem and seatpost and a carbon bar.
